Senior Principal<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matthew Peitz started at Severud Associates in 2005 as a student intern. The next year, he returned to the firm with his bachelor\u2019s degree and began working as an engineer. In 2012, he progressed to senior engineer and in 2013, he advanced to associate while also earning a master\u2019s degree; in 2018, Matt was elevated to senior associate. He was promoted to principal in 2023 and named senior principal in 2026. Matt uses his advanced education and more than 20 years of experience to engineer and manage large-scale and complex structures such as transportation facilities and medical research laboratories. His portfolio of challenging projects includes New York University\u2019s mixed-use John A. Paulson Center<\/a>, NYU Langone Health\u2019s Science Building<\/a>, and the PENN 2<\/a> office building redevelopment, all in New York City. Among Matt\u2019s other significant projects are the high-rise One Vanderbilt Avenue<\/a>, expansion of the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College<\/a> in Hanover, New Hampshire, and the Ambulatory Hub Building at NYU Langone Hospital\u2013Brooklyn<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matt contributes to the structural engineering profession through his work with the Structural Engineers Association of New York<\/a>, where he is a past director and past treasurer.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matt is licensed as a structural engineer in Nevada and Oregon and as a professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, Oregon, and Rhode Island. He was certified by the Structural Engineering Certification Board<\/a> until the program\u2019s sunset in 2022.
