Reichwein"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Stephen Reichwein, PE<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Principal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Steve Reichwein joined Severud Associates in 2009 as an engineer after interning with the firm the summer before. He progressed to senior engineer in 2013, advanced to associate shortly thereafter, and was elevated to senior associate in 2020. Steve was promoted to principal in 2024. Steve\u2019s background in architectural engineering along with his design experience has enabled him to engineer his clients\u2019 visions effectively, regardless of their complexity. Steve is a leader of the firm\u2019s parametric and algorithmic design team, a group whose analyses inform critical engineering decisions for major projects, and a member of the forensics and litigation support team, which provides expert witness testimony, document review, testing protocols, forensic investigations, and reports.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Steve\u2019s major projects include the immersive entertainment venue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.severud.com\/left-side-main-picture\/sphere-at-the-venetian\/?catname=Performance%20Spaces\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sphere<\/a> in Las Vegas, Nevada, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.severud.com\/commercial\/20-times-square\/?catname=Commercial\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">20 Times Square<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.severud.com\/Athletic\/madison-square-garden-v-the-transformation\/?catname=Athletic\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Madison Square Garden V\u2013The Transformation<\/a>, both in New York, to which Steve made significant contributions. His other challenging projects include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.severud.com\/redevelopment\/tsx-broadway-and-palace-theater-redevelopment\/?catname=Redevelopment\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TSX Broadway and Palace Theater redevelopment<\/a>, the high-rise office building <a href=\"https:\/\/www.severud.com\/office-buildings\/one-vanderbilt-avenue\/?catname=Office%20Buildings\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">One Vanderbilt Avenue<\/a>, and the new East 97th Street campus of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marymountnyc.org\/about\/about-overview\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Marymount School of New York<\/a>, all in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Steve represents the structural engineering profession within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seaony.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY)<\/a> as Treasurer and a past member of the Board of Directors, past co-chair of the Programs Committee, and past member of the Codes and Standards Committee. Steve also serves the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asce.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)<\/a> as a member of the Optimal Structural Design and Flood Resistant Design and Construction Committees; he is a past member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asce.org\/communities\/institutes-and-technical-groups\/structural-engineering-institute\/asce-7-and-sei-standards\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ASCE 7-22 Wind Loads Subcommittee<\/a>. Steve is a past member of the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB) Credentialing Committee. In 2024, Steve was named one of the year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.severud.com\/principal-thoughts\/steve-reichwein-bdc-40-under-40-class-of-2024\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201c40 Under 40\u201d<\/a> by <em>Building Design+Construction<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Steve is author or co-author of numerous magazine articles about his projects, methodologies, and other topics of structural engineering interest. He also regularly presents at engineering conferences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Steve is licensed as a structural engineer in Nevada and as a professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Maryland, Missouri, and the District of Columbia. He was certified by SECB until the program\u2019s sunset in 2022.
